The Story
Hey, I'm Jochem Van Uytfanghe — most people just call me Jay. I started builtbyjo because I kept seeing the same problem over and over again.
Service businesses — gyms, salons, clinics, restaurants — losing customers simply because they couldn't reply fast enough. Owners were stuck between serving customers in front of them and answering the phone or checking WhatsApp. Something always got missed.
I saw a CrossFit gym miss three potential sign-ups in one week because messages came in during classes. A salon owner told me she loses sleep worrying about the enquiries she might have missed after hours. A physiotherapist was answering the same questions about pricing and availability dozens of times a day.
The technology to solve this has existed for a while, but it was always expensive, complicated, or built for big enterprises. I thought: why can't a local gym have the same always-on customer service as a Fortune 500 company?
So I built it. AI that actually works for small businesses, at prices that make sense.
How I Work
